A soulful performance given by our first Singapore Idol!.. I marvel at how easily he achieve high notes and do songs in "thin notes".... and how moved i was when he sang Ibu, a P Ramlee classic.
My favourite would have to be One Last - can easily make it a #1 hit in Singapore... his rendition of Me and Mrs Jones, Let's Stay Together, September and Superstition beat the original singers!... though i must say that I prefer hearing him sing live than hearing his CD... haha!...
But all in all, one of my favourite albums i've owned so far.. definitely beat buying a compilation album big time!.. PLUS! it comes with lyrics and a few of his pictures as well!... *though i think that the make-up artists, photographer and the person selecting the pictures could have done a better job!*
if you hadn't got it, do grab it.. it IS from our first Singapore Idol and all i can say - GOOD JOB TAUFIK!.... in all these, i can't help feeling that luck is not on his side ever since he won the coveted title... soooo many challenges and obstacles to overcome.. but nonetheless, I'm sure he will work hard and so far, he has proven himself to be the best that he can and i see, he has spoken like a true artiste - diplomatic and ever-so-humble; which not many artistes do!
p/s: notice that his face is still in the right hand corner of the album?... though not as cialak as his pre-sale album.. but i still wonder where HMV put the tag now?.. coz the tag would have been somewhere near his pretty face... if anyone go there, take picture and show me hor!.. :D
